There are only 2 songs left to record to have it finished and in the pressing phase. There will only be 100 copies of this album pressed. Well, I know April 2011 is a while a way, but I can't help but be excited about it. If everything goes right, I will be departing on a 14 cities in 14 days tour in April. In order to do this though, I need your help. Please visit my Feed The Muse account to make a donation to my tour fund. I'm not going to take without giving a little something back though. Where to begin? I've been playing a lot of shows lately (unfortunately I haven't posted all of them to the website). This has left me with little time to write new material. So, for the month of June, I will be writing and recording a new EP entitled "The Good, The Beard, and The Ugly." In addition to new music, I will also be revamping the website, myspace, and creating a fan page on facebook. Nothing too crazy, just want to get everything more in line. I know I promised a regularly updated website in my last couple of posts, but it is with good reason I have been away from updating the website. Prepare yourself...
WE FINISHED RECORDING THE NEW ALBUM!!! That's right, Beauty's Only Beard Deep was recorded over the course of 3 days (Jan. 16, 18, & 24) @ Mike Timms' home studio. This is not your typical Russell album, there are so many tiny elements that play into the sound and experience. I won't even say how excited I am for you to hear it, and I'll leave it at that for now.
Also, make your way over to the TOUR page for some exciting stops on the Russell's All American Tour (I'm still trying to think of a good name, so I'm testing a few out). I will be playing in Washington DC and New York City, which are both new places for me. If you live near either of these 2 cities, I hope to see you.

Well bros and broads, this is the first news update of the new year. A quick reminder about the show this Friday at Hot Topic in Lynnhaven Mall. Show is free and starts at 6 PM. The party will be going un til 8 PM, so show up and hang out for a while. There will be giveaways and contests. This will be my first US performance in more than 7 months, so I hope to see you all there.

Well, I'm glad to say that I am back in the good ol' U S of A. That being said, I will be updating the website more often since I'm not counting on slow internet in foreign lands. Trust me, there is plenty to inform you of.
-For starters, I will be playing at Hot Topic @ Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach, Va on January 8, 2010. This will probably not be the first show back in the states, but it will most likely be the first show of 2010 due to a hectic recording schedule in January. Make sure you come out. It will be your first oppurtunity to buy the new Russell "Decapitation" shirt.
-Speaking of shirts, I will finally opening up the Russell internet store tomorrow afternoon. You will be able to buy the Russell vs The Monsters and Russell Skeleton shirt designs. I will also be making BOBD available for preorder. I will be putting FREE goodies in every single order, so make sure to be quick because when I run out of freebies, that's it.
-Now, as promised I want you to be updated on BOBD progress... Tomorrow (Dec 12), Mike and I will be listening to the rough demo of the album and figuring out where all of the little details need to be placed (strings, wind, keys, backing vox, etc.). This is a vast improvement on the way a Russel album usually goes down. We're mapping it out almost a month before recording it to make sure we know where everything needs to be placed. It's safe to say that I am stoked about this new album. A lot of my fans haven't heard any of the new album, and I can't wait to see the looks on your adorable little faces.

-Russell Has A Drummer: A new member has joined the Beardless family. Jeremy has been playing drums for me the past month or so and getting ready to lay down some beats for the new album plus he'll be hitting the road with me in March for the Weekends In March Tour. So welcome him when you see him.

Well, over the past few months I haven't had any reason to really promote my myspace page. THat all changed the other day with the addition of a new video and track. That's right, I finally loaded "Be My Pretty", the first song from the new album. The live track is from Haifa, Israel and the video is from Port Victoria, Seychelles. June 26, 2009 I know it seems quick, but since I got off my ass less than a year ago, I've been playing all over the world and I haven't stopped writing my new album. To your right is the album cover for Beauty's Only Beard Deep. This is yet another awesome design from, Ian Glaubinger. You can expect the new album to be out around February 2010. The next couple of years are going to be really exciting. I'll be finishing up the world tour in December, recording BOBD when I get back home, and going on 2 mini East Coast tours in 2010 (one with Haifa's own, Friday Night Sissy Fight and the other with close firend, producer, and labelmate Mikeal Timms). This is all very exciting, and I'm glad that the number of fans is growing and able to enjoy this with me. Well, there are a lot of awesome things going on in the Russell camp these days. First off, I have a photoshoot this Sunday for the cover of CLG Monthly. I'll be sharing said cover with the one and only Charlie Restless for a 20 Questions segment in the magazine. To make this monumental occasion even sweeter is the fact that the cover is being shot by the wonderful Glo. That's right, the same person who somehow has managed a way to make hot people hotter. I just hope she catches the good side of my beard :).
I know that I just released "...Permanent Vacation", but I'm about to get started on two other awesome projects:
1. A ZAO tribute E.P. The same band that changed the way I listen to music has given me their blessing on this project. I'm no Dan Weyandt, but I hope I make these guys proud with my folk covers of their brutally heavy, yet poetic songs.
2. I've recently been surrounded by a lot of inspiring people who have pushed along the writing process of my third album "Beauty's Only Beard Deep." It won't be out until January-ish 2010, but that's way better than me taking another 2 year hiatus.
If any of you are throwing a house party in the next few weeks, let me know, I'd love to come play for you guys.
